Paige has recently discovered Blues Clues. I must say it's a nice departure from Bob the Builder, Backyardigans & Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I like these 3 shows, but On Demand only has a few at any given time. Watching the same thing over and over does get old after a while.
What she likes most about this show is helping Steve find the clues. So, what's a Crafty Mommy to do? Make a Blues Clues game of her own, of course! This was a cute, easy & cheap game to make. A little felt, some Elmer's glue, construction paper & computer paper and it's done. Ronnie "hid" the clues for us before we got home. When we walked in the door Paige got her Handy Dandy Notebook.
With our trusty green crayon and Handy Dandy Notebook in hand, we were off to search for clues. And here it is, our first clue! We found it! It was on our jammies. Wow!
There's 3 clues, so we must keep looking. Clue #2! We found it! It's next to our soap.
Time to keep looking. Blue always has 3 clues. Where could that last one be? Maybe on a washcloth? Yes! There it is!
Now that we have all 3 clues, what's next? We sit down in our thinking chair. (Well, our thinking couch, but it is red.)
Now we have to figure out Blues Clues. What could it be? We have jammies, soap & a washcloth. Hmmmm..... Blue wants to take a shower! That's it!
We've just figured out Blues Clues! We've just figured out Blues Clues! We've just figured out Blues Clues because we're really smart!
And here we are relaxing with our clues.
Paige didn't want to give up her clues at all. She held on to them for quite a while. It's a fun, cute game to play. It was great watching Paige come to the answer on her own, with minimal prodding from Mommy. We try to play the game about once or twice a week. Something to keep her interested, but not too much. The hardest part is coming up with the clues for the game.
I enjoyed making this game. I enjoyed it so much I've got 3 more to make. One for Hannah, Kennedy & Chickie. I may make a few more for a few more friends. We all have girls within a few months of each other. It's easy & fun. Now I just have to find the time to sit down and do it!
